okay. so mary already said that this wouldn't work out for her because of the time limit on her computer time and stuff. but i don't have ur email rue and all so can we possibly study together... stupid. i no. but i need all the help i can get. i know they said they were having a study session at borders (or were trying 2) but i don't know the time and my parents won't drive me to borders. its probably already started already 2. so... first question. #7. this is probably the easiest one 2. the question is: the figure is a rectangle that has a length of x+5 and a width of 2x. Write and simplify a rational expression for the ratio of the perimeter to the area of the given figure. what exactly are we supposed to do. just put x+5 over 2x and simplify it if possible?

that doesn't make any sense though. the 4x ^2 does because that would be 2x times 2x but the 6x+10 doesn't. oh well. on the test ill probably just put something like 2x+10 over 4x. i can't simplify it either... thats bad. does anybody no if rue knows the answer?

never mind. that dosen make sense. don't listen to me. i sorta missed the part that said area to perimeter. my bad. oh wells. it makes sense. just put the perimeter over the area. wait. wouldn't the area be 2x^2+10x?

wah i typed it wrong~~~~~~~~~~ I'm sorry sam~~~~~~~~~~~
over 4x^4
my bad, sorry
perimiter: x+5+x+5+4x+4x=6x+10
area: x^2+25 is difference of squares
sos (x+5)(x-5)(4x^2)
(4x^3+20x^2)(x-5)
foil method......
4x^4-20x^3+20x^3-100x^2
20x^3's cancel out...
4x^4-100x^2
oh, sorry, got it wrong the first time... moving on...
so that'd be 6x+10 ----------- 4x^4-100x^2
nothin cancels out, sos......
crap. if i work this a third time, I'll prob get a diff answer again
don't ask me for math help, I'm failing.

Pardon the probably useless and outdated post, but I believe the answer is: 3x+5
x^2+10x
I might be wrong as I have often been.

Yes. The answer is -1 and no you can't simplify that any further, so don't take away the 2.
