Well, you aren't supposed to DIE. You two can become friends, even though she despises the opposite gender. :/

Growling, Vince watched as a woman stalked through the shadows. What she was doing with his prey, he didn't know, but he was waiting for this day for years. To get back at the former Ruler of Light, the one to inherit his power should die. Growling, his nose turned long and pointed, ears turning sharp and black. In an instant, the human man had turned into a Pitch Black panther. The only difference between him and the woman was that he was much stealthier, and 5 times bigger. Swishing his tail, he climbed down the embankment and took form of the woman's shadow. With this, he was the perfect puppeteer. Right now, he knew better, and let the strings go slack and was dragged slowly by the invisible strings holding them together.

When Alex finally got to his uncle's house, he slowly knocked on the door, hoping someone was there to let him in. To his surprise, his uncle was home. "Uh. I'm your nephew Alex. I got kicked out of the house and I was just wondering if i could stay here with you." His Uncle stared at him for a few seconds and then said, "It's fine. Come on. I think you need someone to talk to anyways."

"So, you're saying that you knew i was the lord of darkness for a really long time?" the uncle replied, "Well of course we knew. Even your mother knew, but she didn't want to believe it and put you in danger so she tried to deny it. It was pretty funny though. Only you or your cousin could be the lord of darkness. When your cousin was five, he was really smart, but didn't have enough strength to walk five feet. You, on the other hand, were really strong. You could easily run a mile, easily do the push-ups and sit-ups that were asked of you during gym. You only got stronger from that point onward. I was watching your growth while no one else was. I was watching your cousin at the same time though. He was training to control the darkness, so just in case he was chosen he would have the power to stop the light. He did get much stronger, but not enough to surpass you." "Uh. So... How can he control darkness and stuff when he's not the lord of darkness?" "Even when you're not the lord of darkness, if you have the blood of the current one than you have the power to control the darkness. You can't control it as well as the real lord of darkness no matter how much try, though." "Oh. That makes more sense. But how the heck do you know so much?" "I'm your great uncle. The three sisters, your aunts and mom, were triplets. They were all born one second apart. The oldest one, got the burden of the lord of darkness, but they didn't know that at the time. Your mother got trained as well. That's besides the point though. You know how people of great importance get to live for ever unless they die in battle?" Alex nodded. "That's the point. I was the first lord of darkness, so I had a great part. There was one man who ruined it though. I don't know his name, but I do know he was the first lord of light. He wanted revenge so bad, he took my sword and every time he came across an unsuspecting lord of darkness he would shatter their sword. When you shatter their sword, the weilder looses a part of themselves and therefore was forced to take my sword and use it as if it were there own. But that man was able to control the lord of darkness becasuse he was the one who had shattered their sword. He used their power for his own greedy good and since he used the dark lord, no one would ever suspect it was him. I knew better though. That's probably where that ghost came from who attacked you. He sent that ghost after you in order to destroy your sword. Every sword that is placed within a body is in a certain structure. There either diagonal or straight up and down, but they always cross this one spot in the middle of your body. The ghost aimed for that one spot, but since your sister pushed the ghost's hand away, you were saved. It only hit your shoulder. That means your sword was either diagonal on the opposite side or striaght up and down. You were really lucky they didn't hit the hilt though. THe hilt is like the head of a human. It is the most protected part, but very weak when hit. Your sword would have been shattered for sure if It had been hit there. There is a sligth chance that the sword will survive when hit in any other place besides the middle because you know the middle would represent the... Never mind. I don't think it's very appropraite to say. That's totally going in the other direction. We need to extract your sword, before that man tries to destroy it again." Alex gulped, "How do you extract the sword?" His uncle giggled and said, "Like this." He slashed Alex across the chest. Blood splattered everywhere. His uncle took his hand and drove it straight through the wound that Alex had just recieved. "This is usually where the main point of the sword is. It can slightly move though every now and then. If that happens, that means you get another slash." His uncle continued and latched onto something. He pulled, but it wouldn't budge. Alex coughed up blood. "Seeing that you just coughed up blood, the item was really soft, and it didn't budge, I'm guessing that was your heart." His uncle continued to rumage around. More blood was spilling out of the wound. There were puddles of it by there feet. Alex was slowly beginning to slip out of conciousness, but tried to hold on. "Must have moved over slightly. Let's try this again." His uncle removed his hand, took the dagger, and slashed Alex's chest now going across in the other direction. He shoved his hand through that newly opened wound, not caring about how much blood was covering both of their bodies. "Ah. Here it is." His uncle pulled out a gleaming black sword, with little green speckles on the hilt. "It's daigonal to the right. That means it's a pretty powerful sword. That's good." Alex collapsed on the ground and managed to mumble, "You bastard." He collapsed on the floor, landing on his puddle of blood. "I have a feeling you and me aren't going to get along very well." His uncle smiled and said, "At least your still alive. Most people would be dead after that. How you still managed to remain conscious is beyond me. Oh well. I'm leaving your sword on the bed for now. And you won't die either. I'll get around to healing your wound eventually." Alex once agained murmured, "You bastard." Alex lost conciousness drifting into his own world. "Huh. I'm gonna like this kid."

Lydia was about to swoop in for the kill, but --- saw the panther. This prey wasn't hers, and she respected that. Although it annoyed her highly that she couldn't have some bloodshed, she decided that she could save it for later, when it was night - when it was more of an art to kill. She headed back through the forest to where it was darker; darkness was her soul and being parted from it for long periods of time was painful for her. As she was cloaked in the familiarity of blackness, she grinned and scanned around for noises: there were, perhaps, smaller game in this part of the forest, such as snakes or tarantulas, and she'd always wanted one as a pet.

Intrigued at the woman's sudden act of submission, Vince growled in delight as the job became slightly easier. Crawling onto the roof silently, he watched as the target fell to the ground in a pool of blood. Another man, covered in almost as much as blood, laughed and did a quick healing spell. After leaving the room, Vince dug his claws into the wall and slipped through a crack, quickly transforming from large, to small, to large again. Grinning, he released his favorite attack. Enveloping himself with his being, he turned into the darkness around him and enveloped the unconscious boy. The place where they were wasn't the safest place to kill him, too many people were walking around for a quiet killing. So, like a real panther, he took him to the place he called home in maze of caves in the mountain.

kinda bored with this right now...

There was a low hiss, making Lydia grin in delight. What color could this one be? She'd always wanted a blue one, but they were so hard to find. Upon holding it up on her arm, going through a few steps to attempt taming it (including offering some of her own blood), it finally settled down a little bit on her arm. It was pretty big, and once she got into the light found out that it was female.
Lucky for her, it was black with blue stripes - what a beautiful color! She decided to keep this one as long as she could, and extract poison from it that she could use on her dagger. Most of them died during missions; people always seemed to find that the snake was more dangerous than Lydia -
...Well, at first, anyway.
After five minutes with her, they'd probably rather face a full-size anaconda than her.

Makenna listened carefully to what was going on. The boy and his uncle conversed. The uncle stabbed the boy and pulled out the sword. The boy fell, and the uncle left the sword there. <excellent> she thought. Silently, she jumped onto the roof, then swung through a window. <Wait a minute> the boy was gone. oh well, no time to dwell on it, now. She didn't care what happened to the freaking lord of darkness. She just needed the sword. Carefully, she picked it up, and was gone.

Alex slowly opened his eyes. He couldn't remember much of what happened the other day. "Ah. Finally you're awake. It only took you long enough. We have to leave and all you're doing is lying around here." "What do you mean we have to leave? I just got up!!!" "Someone took your sword. Without your sword, you role means nothing. You MUST get your sword. If you concentrate hard enough you will be able to find it with your mind. You and your sword are connected. Your link is very weak though so this might be a long sword hunt. At least you get your first lesson in the dark arts." Alex groaned and slowly got up, not even close to being prepared for his journey. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- if you're a big fan of harry potter, sorry for using the word dark arts, but theres not really anything else to use. * points to her paragraph * did you not read my paragraph? wth dude?

you didn't read anything. it was all just a dream and dreams disappear after a while.
------------------------------------------------------------ "Ah. You're finally awake. Let's see what you can do boy." "What? Where am I?" Alex didnt' remember much except for the fact that he was the dark lord dude and he just got a new sword. "I captured you. That uncle of yours wasn't much of a fight. And I have a mission for you." "Oh great. Just what I need." "So what is this mission." "I forgot to grab your sword and it has now been stolen. I need you to connect it with your mind and bring it back here." "Conntact it with my mind? What do you mean?" "All lords of darkness have a strong link with their sword even if there sword has not been released yet. You will use that connection to bring that sword back here. You WILL be mine." He gave a low chuckle and wandered off. "My life sucks. I have to go though." He got up off the floor. "Oh yeah. Boy, I'm coming with you so you don't pull a fast one and leave in the middle of it."

Sighing, the now human man paced back and forth in his home. Irritably, he reran the moments through his head again. just as he was about to slash the boy's throat, he had received a silver rock from his superiors. Silver rocks meant pause mission, Red rocks meant activate ( for whatever the mission would be ) And Blue rocks meant change of plans. Blue rocks usually followed silver rocks, so the man continuously growled. Glancing up, he glared at the knocked out boy, mumbling in his dreams about a sword and a mission. What a weird kid. Jaw tight, the long haired man sat down in a nearby chair and clenched his fists together. In a flash of light, a rock appeared with code on it. Grimacing, the frustrated man grabbed the rock and quickly read the inscription. Yelling out in anger, he threw it at one of his counters and punched the chair. They wanted him to change everything. Instead of killing the boy, they wanted him to protect him. Apparently he was the lord of darkness. After ruining his life, the lord of light deserved the death of his son, and yet his superiors decided to pause his plans, even if he was superior. In the world they lived in, one must be on one of the sides of the law in order to successfully get away with killing someone. Reluctantly, he had decided to join the dark side, since his grudge with the light side didn't help him.
But to protect the person that his entire life was made to kill? It was maddening. Too maddening. Even so, the superiors meant business if they sent the message that fast. Shoulders tense, he quickly turned around and changed his face into an emotionless mask as the boy began to wake up. This was going to piss him off to hell.
