Yumi massaged her temples as the girl behind them lowered the volume.
"Barely.."
Muttering under her breathe, Yumi looked over at Yuusuke, who had a dumb grin plastered across his fast. Snapping her finger at him, Yumi gave him a questioning look, only to be given a shoulder shrug.
Gah... Brothers....

" Okay, kiddies, heads up, we're here~"
Groaning at Kei's enthusiasm, Diane muttered something along the lines of, " get this over with", and stalked off of the bus.
Quickly taking charge, Diane lined up each student and began to read from the clipboard she had been writing on during the ride.
" Based on each of your strengths and weaknesses, I have divided you into groups. What you all must do is make your way to the top of the mountain. Of course, your life comes first, and if you happen to be injured, then use the items we will give you after this breifing."
Quickly makeing a few tick marks, Diane continued addressing the students in a high-brow fashion.
" Yuusuke and Alex, you two will be red group. Randy, Yumi and Isabella, you three will be blue group. Myself and Kei will be white group. Realize that we will be watching your every move and do not, under any circumstance, leave your group. Although this is a simple activity, this mountain is still wild and dangerous, so please be cautious."
Stepping out from behind the bus, Kei quickly threw each person a bag and began to explain the contents.
" Flashlight that's rechargeable with LED lights, some flares, a week's worth of food in case you get lost. Also, there's a set of matches for tonight, a very very compressed sleeping bag, and a retractable knife."
Slinging her own bag, Diane quickly added to his explanation.
" We estimate that the time it takes to reach the summit is precisely one day, so you all will have to spend the night out doors. Also, each group will be with us until we reach the first checkpoint, where we will assign your groups with different paths. Come on now."
Hair dancing in the wind and pack bulging, Diane turned her back to the unexperienced campers and began walking. Giving her brother a sad look, Yumi began walking with her group as he began walking with Alex. Kei was behind everyone, pretending to be slacking off.
In reality, he was making sure they weren't being followed.

Randy listened to Diane long enough to know which group she was in, then stopped paying attention. She didn't want to climb a mountain. She didn't want to be special. She just wanted to go back to her room and play something. ----------------------------- argh! i need to write something long for once!

Alex found his group. He was disappointed that his group was the group that had to have only two people, but he just figured that meant that his team was better than the other one. He continued listening, however, to Diane had finished speaking. He looked around for his partner, Yuusuke. He noticed that Yuusuke was already walking towards him. Alex began to walk towards Yuusuke. When they finally met, Alex asked, "So are you ready to climb this mountain?" No matter how much Alex wanted to just stay there are not have to go, he had to go. He couldn't let Yuusuke do this all by himself. This was dangerous and Alex needed some experience. He was prepared to loose his life if it came down to that. He had nothing else to loose anyways.

" Of course! As soon as we split up, I expect us to be the first group!"
As he enthusiastically pumped his fists into the air, Yuusuke's mind was racing. The higher elevation they were, the more likely he would find rare ingredients.

Randy watched subtly as Yumi and Isabella gradually...migrated towards her. <Great. People.> They seemed to be talking, but she ingnored them, focussing on the music still blaring in her ears. <I wonder what they think of me?> She suddenly thought, then mentally slapped herself. <Since when have I cared?> Still, though, in the back of her mind, ideas were racing. <Reclusive. A bit rude maybe? What if they think I'm too obsessed...well I am obsessed but still...weird maybe? No, everyone's weird in their own way...> -------------------------------------- Haha I'm laughing right now...Randy's fun to write about...

Yumi's eyes flitted from Isabella's face to Randy's. She was still listening to her blaring music and wasn't exactly paying attention to anything that was going on. Yumi began to think about the world around them.
There's always moisture in the air, right...?
"A good listener is not only popular everywhere, but after a while he gets to know something."
After repeating it five times in her mind, Yumi looked over at Randy and bore her eyes into her skull and the air around her.
I wonder if this will work...?

"A good listener is not only popular everywhere, but after a while he gets to know something." Randy ripped off her headphones in surprise. "What the heck is your problem?" she asked, glaring at Yumi. "It wasn't even loud!"

Yumi slowly glanced over at Randy.
" Ah. It worked."
After a few calm blinks, Yumi shook her head and continued to hike up the steep hill. Sometimes, humans were so vain about the world it was shocking. Granted, the girl had the blood that directly tied her with music, but music could be found outdoors too. The birds, the wind, the rustling trees.. Nature had it's own symphony. But she wasn't going to say that out loud.
