"Alex. It's your turn,"Diane called.
He slowly got up and walked over to the ball. "I have a really bad feeling about this," he muttered as he put his hand on the crystal ball.

Alex looked over at Diane. She had an expression of, "I knew it. I knew he would get the power of the Shadow. I just knew it would happen."
He looked away and took his head off the ball. He stuck his hands in his pockets and went back to his seat. The other four kids were staring at him as he did.

Slowly, the colors shifted from blue, to red, to green and turned a misty black. Gently, it sweeped out and enveloped the girl and flew around her ears. A gently melody sang in the room as it disappeared.

Slowly, the ball gradually changed inside. A dark murky color formed and eased in and out of the ball. Suddenly, it blasted out and hit Alex. the boy instinctively flinched, even after he felt nothing. In quick spurts, the darkness squeezed around him and disappered.
Smiling, Crystal walked up to him.
" Although Shadows are our enemies, you are lucky enough to have the thing that they don't. Many of the Crystal's before me called it something different, but the reason why Shadows hunt us is because they don't have our soul. You however, are a Shadow with soul, therefore an important key element."
Gently, Crystal placed her hands on his shoulders.
" You have the choice of going to their side and becoming their leader, or you have the choice of staying with us and fending them off. The decision is yours to make. "

Looking around, Crystal smiled.
" I'll tell you everything as soon as we get into a safer place, Kei, Diane, are the preperations ready?"
Looking over at the two as they nodded, she smiled and ushered everyone to a back room. It was a tiny room with a bookshelf and a chair along with a candle. As soon as everyone got in, she closed the door and lit the candle. After a while, she blew it out and opened the door again. Although seeming as strange behavior, the room was not the same that they had entered. It was about as big as the academy and had different types of obstacles and strange human like creatures.
" Welcome to the trainning room."

Thinking for a moment, Crystal sighed.
" The bloodline often skips generations, so your parents are probably unaware of it. As for our powers, Kei is a hydra, I myself am part of the last bloodline of magic users. As for Diane, she's a Nymph."
Glaring at Crystal, Diane sighed in annoyance.
" Surprise surprise. Instead of the Ice Queen being a Shadow like everyone expected, I'm a nymph."
Crystal awkwardly laughed and looked to the side in embarrassment.
" Now then, there are several different areas here, but I suggest that you all start off with the areas with the dummies. Also, I suggest that you all have a good amount of room from each other since you don't exactly have your powers harnessed. As for your powers, even we don't know. They vary for each person, but the best thing to do is close your eyes and concentrate back to that orb. I'm sorry if I'm being a little vague, but this is the first time that I've taught anyone, and aside from my own power, I have no idea what to do."
Grinning, Crystal shyly put her arms behind her back and giggled.
" Anyway, hop to it!"

After Crystal had finished, Yumi decided to walk to the far corner and practice near her brother. After getting situated, Yumi closed her eyes and thought back to the ball. It had looked like an ocean was trapped inside and wanted to come out. Slowly, she thought back to the first time she and her family went to the beach.
The water had been cool and was a light blue color, and whenever she took a breathe, the smell of salt would envelope her. As if she were there again, she felt the sand under her feet and water all around her. It was such a strong sensation, she forgot where she was. Opening her eyes, she was astonished to see little droplets of water suspended in air. Carefully taking her hand, she pushed one of the droplets into the air and watched as it swirled. After absorbing all of it into her head, she acted like she was playing an invisible game of tennis. Gripping at an invisible raquet, she watched as the water morphed into a large axe. In silent astonishment, she felt it grow solid and gave it a few test swings. Whenever she swung, water would fly out and cut the air. Softly smiling, she began to practice her newly formed ability.

After thinking for a while, Yuusuke felt like the air had suddenly grown moist using his hand as a fan, he quickly swished the air around him to get rid of the feeling. to his astonishment a quick wind burst and flew around him. After a long pause at the surprising feat, he continued to move his hands this way and that, causing more gusts of wind to blow. After a while, he began thinking again. Without realizing it, he began to drum his fingers on his leg, an annoying habit that he had inherited from his father. Without warning, a vent of air suddenly appeared in front of him. Even though he couldn't see it, he could feel it. It slightly resembled the figure of a cooking pot he used to own.
Leaning his head towards the invisible pot, he felt around it's opening and sure enough, found what seemed like a spoon. After flicking it a few times to make sure he wasn't hallucinating, he gripped it and watched as the empty air turned into a cloudy spoon sitting on top of a gray, murky pot. Quickly stirring it, he watched as the empty pot turned into a murky blue liquid. Frowning, he let go of the spoon and thought for a while.
Like a bolt of lightning, an idea struck his mind. Grabbing at the air, sure enough, there were ingredients for his pot. Adding a few handfuls of this and that, he watched as the murky blue liquid turned green, and then black. Slowly, it curled out of the pot and touched the ceiling. Quizzically, Yuusuke moved his hands a little bit, and watched in astonishment as it moved with his command. Now to find out what the cloud did was the hard part.

Alex went over to the corner and began to picture the darkness that he saw floating in the ball. Nothing had happened. He tried again, but still nothing happened. He walked over to Key, the nice person, and asked, "Is nothing supposed to happen?"

Frowning KEI began staring really hard at Alex. After a while, he straightened his back and grinned. Running backwards, he shot out his arms and yelled out, " Think fast!" as large green vines shot out of the ground. Quickly, they snaked around wildly, crookedly aiming for Alex. Before he could react, the vines disappeared.
Grinning, Kei held his left wrist tightly
" Nice job kid."
Slowly, he let go of his wrist as a large, fresh cut slowly healed itself.
" Adrenaline helps rush the skill, even if you're not aware of it. Try using the obstacle course or dummies. I'd love to be your training buddy and all, but Crystal will kill me if she found out I destroyed the floor, so this is a secret, okay?"
Glancing at the broken floor, he flicked his now healed hand at the ground. Slowly it rebuilt itself and in seconds, looked as if nothing had happened.
